Team Turks and Caicos rocked the Routes World Conference this October 16-18 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The team lead by Her Excellency Deputy Governor, Anya Williams and Honourable Minister for Aviation Arlington Musgrove, gave amazing presentations marketing the islands.
The team was a collective of aviation, tourism, hotel and administrative leaders united with the common goal of presenting the TCI to stakeholders of the global airline industry with the intention of encouraging business in the islands. The team, possessing decisive authority, fostered existing relationships while developing new ones, and presented the country's strategical goals. Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager for the TCIAA, Nikeva Ariza, noted that "several unanticipated and creditable approaches were made by airlines interested in doing business in the TCI."
The Turks and Caicos brand is highly valued in the airline and travel industries. This value allowed the team to effectively communicate the sentiments of TCI citizens and visitors alike. These sentiments concerned a number of topics such as pricing, resources, capacity, and destination selection. The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of TCIAA, Mr. Dwayne Gardiner, noted the importance of involving Board members in events such as Routes because it provides them with first-hand exposure to the many benefits of the TCIAA's participation.
During this year's conference, there was special attention paid to marketing the unique offerings of the islands beyond Providenciales. This unique diversification of the TCI as a collective brand continues to resonate with industry partners and tourists. The CEO of the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA), Stacy Cox, stated, "...This was an invaluable networking experience and a pivotal opportunity that allowed us to nurture relationships with high-level airline executives, and foster new ones as we continue building capacity and sustainability for our destination. Data shows the region is in a growth phase. As Turks and Caicos remains positioned. as a top trending destination, the TCIAA is excellently managing symbiotic partnerships that will lead to prime positioning for the country."
Mary Lightbourne of the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourism Board, commented on how pleased she was with the quality of the team's work. In addition to the effective presentations, the Turks and Caicos booth aesthetic was second to none. The booth used striking visuals to show the beauty of the islands and its people. At the Routes World Conference, the TCI successfully solidified it's brand's strength and it's position as a well sought after destination in the high end tourist market.
