TCIAA has completed the first and second phases of the South Caicos Airport Project, the first and second phases included the redevelopment of the airside, incorporating a Code (3) runway, improved taxiway system, an expanded aircraft parking apron, and the construction of a new Air Traffic Control Tower building.
The contract for the third phase was signed on April 7, 2020, and has been awarded to Dolmen Import and Export dba Dolmen Construction.
Due to the COVID- 19 pandemic, there was a delay in work, and access to South Caicos was limited.
The new Passenger Terminal and combined services buildings will conform to all International and National requirements as it relates to aviation security and Turks & Caicos building codes.
The new Terminal Building will accommodate both Domestic and International passengers. With the two luxury properties on the island of South Caicos, the facilities will complement the offerings in welcoming visitors to our shores.
The combined services building will centralize with the various airport support functions such as an Airport Fire Station which will accommodate our Firefighters and shelter the Rescue and Fire Fighting Vehicles. A complete maintenance facility will enable our mechanics to service the fleet of vehicles.
