AMERICAN AIRLINES CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF OPERATION TO TURKS AND CAICOS
December 20, 2022The Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority was elated to celebrate 30 years of service with American Airlines this past weekend.
American commenced operation on December 18th 1992 operating a 727 aircraft into the Turks and Caicos with daily flights from Miami, Florida. The airline has since expanded connecting Chicago, Dallas, Boston, Philadelphia, Charlotte and New York to the TCI.
The TCIAA celebrated with the American Arlines team, staff and key stakeholders in leadership of the nation and industry including the Deputy Governor, Minister responsible for TCIAA and Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association.
The CEO of the TCIAA expressed his contentment for this milestone with American Airlines. He shared "it is amazing to have this longstanding relationship with American Airlines and for the TCIAA and stakeholders to have fostered the growth of the airline connecting the Turks and Caicos to several major cities. We look forward to continued growth as we achieve the shared goals of the TCIAA and American Airlines together."
The celebration ceremony held December 18th 2022 at the Providenciales International Airport was filled with smiles as we honored American Airlines here in the Turks and Caicos.
About The Turks and Caicos Airports Authority
The Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority is a statutory body established in 2006 following the split of the Civil Aviation Department into the Civil Aviation Authority and Airports Authority. TCIAA is mandated for the constructing, controlling and managing of airports; providing and maintaining runways, taxiways and terminals for the efficient operation of airports; providing facilities for Customs and Immigration services, and Health and Security checks; and for incidental and connected purposes.
